Kinderen van Europan gaan Europan Nederland vertegenwoordigen – Architectuur Lokaal

Na een stemming van de 13 landen die zijn aangesloten bij Europan Europe is bekend geworden dat een collectief van voormalige prijswinnaars onder de naam Kinderen van Europan, met hun plan Europan 2.0, is benoemd tot officiële afvaardiging van Nederland.

Hiermee is de aanvraag voor het lidmaatschap van Europlan Nederland, gesteund door het bestuur van Europan Nederland en Architectuur Lokaal, afgewezen.
In dit initiatief stond de vernieuwing van de prijsvraagcultuur in Europa centraal. De rol van de architect, het planproces als zodanig, en het mandaat van de opdrachtgever zijn aan grote verandering onderhevig. Een prijsvraag zoals Europan, die zich inzet voor theorievorming en onderzoek, gekoppeld aan realisatie van innovatieve ontwerpen moet daar op inspelen door nieuwe partners te vinden, het wedstrijdproces te vernieuwen en het begrip ‘realisatie’ te herijken.

Europan Nederland wenst de Kinderen van Europan veel succes met het creëren van kansen voor jonge architecten, het bieden van ervaring, het delen van kennis en het verdiepen van urgente opgaven in een Europese setting.

CHILDREN OF EUROPAN APPOINTED AS EUROPAN REPRESENTATIVES IN NL

After a vote among the 13 countries that make up Europan Europe, it was revealed that a collective of previous Europan winners called Children of Europan with their proposal Europan 2.0 have been appointed as the official Europan representatives in the Netherlands.

As such, the application for membership of Europlan, supported by Europan Nederland and Architectuur Lokaal, has been turned down. This initiative focused on the renewal of the culture of competitions in Europe. The role of architects, the planning process itself, and the mandate of clients are all undergoing fundamental changes. A competition like Europan, which promotes the development of theory and research, and is linked to the realization of innovative designs, should respond to such changes by finding new partners, renewing the competition process, and enriching the notion of ‘realization’.

Europan Nederland wishes the Children of Europan every success in creating opportunities for young architects, offering them experience, sharing knowledge, and exploring pressing questions in a European context.
